WENDRON 3
FALMOUTH TOWN 8
WITH a patched up side containing less than fit players and their manager in the line-up, Falmouth Town still managed to pick up three points from their Jolly's Combination League match at Underlane.
Neither side settled into any rhythm, but it was Wendron who took the lead when Gary Davis took advantage of sloppy marking to fire his shot past Tom Thorpe.
Five minutes later Town were back on level terms when manager Gary Pascoe, who had an inspired game, slipped the bal to Ashley Thomas who beat the 'keeper with a first-time drive.
The home side were soon back in front when Davis eluded his marker to score from a corner, but former Wendron player Chris Wolstencroft restored parity when he snapped up the equaliser.
There was little to separate the sides, but Town always looked dangerous on the break and Wolstencroft and Brian Hawke both managed to get efforts on target to put Town 4-2 ahead at the break.
Wendron's failure in not picking up Hawke was exposed in the second half as he helped himself to three further goals from diagonal balls by Thomas and Luke Wort.
Wort had the other second half goal from a cross by Thomas.
Davis completed his hat-trick to give Wendron some hope at 5-3, but it was no more than a consolation.
