PENRYN ATHLETIC 1
TRURO CITY 5
PENRYN athletic had no real answer to Truro City's powerful side as the visitors cruised to a comfortable 5-1 Jolly's Combination League win at Kernick.
City started the match in great form and took the lead in the tenth minute when Jonny Ludlam picked up a pass along the flank and hit a fierce cross into the box for Chris Reski to time his run to perfection and sidefoot the ball into the net in one sweeping move.
Athletic's hard-working defence stemmed the tide for a while, but on the half hour City snapped up a second goal when the dangerous Reski made ground along the flank and delivered a perfect cross for Sam Cooper to head past Chris Symons from 12 yards in fine style.
City extended their lead at the start of the second half with another goal from Cooper, but Athletic showed some spirit when they grabbed a goal through Robbie Canale who gave Richard Pennington no chance with a great free kick into the roof of the net.
Unfortunately for Athletic they conceded another goal almost straight away when Cooper completed his hat-trick.
The scoring was finished by former Athletic player Dan Richardson who had time to turn and crack his shot past Symons for the fifth goal.
