Cornish golfer Emily Toy was beaten in the first round of the Australian Amateur matchplay stages.
Toy, who plays for Carlyon Bay Golf Club, topped the leaderboard with seven-under-par after the first two strokeplay rounds at the Royal Queensland and Brisbane Golf Clubs, ensuring she was seeded first for the matchplay rounds, but lost by 3&2 to Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri of Indonesia in the first round.
Putri went on to reach the final, losing to Toy's compatriot Charlotte Heath by 7&6.
Toy is currently touring Australia with England Golf for the second year in a row, with the seven-strong squad now competing in the New South Wales Amateur, which finishes on Friday.
Toy won the initial 36-hole stroke play title at the event last season.
The Australian tour ends with the Avondale Amateur at Avondale Golf Club between January 28-31.
