Truro City Football Club is set to hold an open fans forum tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss future plans.

The event is scheduled for November 30 at the Hotel Vara in the city and will kick-off at 7.30pm.

Entry is free and will begin from 7pm on a first come, first served basis.

At this gathering, club officials, including first team manager Paul Wotton, will be present to speak and roll out the future plans for the club.

This will include the new stadium at Langarth and the timeline for the team's return to playing in Cornwall and the city of Truro.

Supporters should note that there is limited parking at the Hotel Vara, and it's also available on a first come, first serve basis.

The nearest public parking is at Moorfield Car Park.

The primary topic of conversation at the forum will likely be the new Truro Sports Hub, set to be located in Langarth, near Truro.

This facility, anticipated to become the future home ground of Truro City Football Club, was announced by Cornwall Council who submitted plans to its planning authority.

Though downsized from 10,000 to 3,000 capacity, there is potential for it to accommodate 4,000 people.

Features of the hub include a main pitch for FA-standard football that measures 103.3m by 68m and a community pitch measuring 100m by 64m, both with seating.

Additional facilities in the plan are parking spaces, a three-metre-wide footpath and provision for a community building with changing facilities.

However, there is no mention in the application whether the hub will also serve Cornish Pirates, the rugby team that owns the club.

There is an ambition though, to adapt the pitch for other sports, including rugby.

Truro City FC, who share grounds with Plymouth Parkway FC, confirmed plans to resume games in their city once the new facility is ready.

They are working under a tight timeframe as FA sign-off is due by March 31, 2024, making delivery dates critical to start league matches by August 2024.
