On Saturday the first major competition at Falmouth Golf Club took place - the Falmouth Hotel Bowl, played over 36 holes.
A warm sunny day greeted the 55 players who had signed up for the full 36 hole Stableford competition, reintroduced last year by past Captain Pete Lewis.
In third place with rounds of 34 and 36 was Jack Ninnes with eight pars and a birdie two on the second on his first round and seven pars and two birdies on his afternoon round giving him a total of 70.
In second place was Archie Fox with rounds of 39 and 33 who's first round consisted of nine pars and four birdies also including a two on the second. His afternoon round included nine pars also along with two birdies on the 10th and 16th holes giving him a total of 72.
In first place and this year's winner of the Falmouth Hotel Bowl with rounds of 39 and 36 a total of 75 is Bradley Cock with a birdie and five pars on his first round and eight pars on his second round. Best first round of the day was Archie Fox with 39 beating Bradley Cock on countback and best second round of the day went to Falmouth Golf Club president Ian Churcher with an excellent 40 points.
Sunday saw Falmouth Golf Club take part in the inaugural Sue Rider Cup held at Perranporth Golf Club where six mixed teams played in a better ball format. Representing Falmouth were Vice Captain Pete Chambers and Donna Craig, Mike Cuffin and Mel Byrne, Gordon Kelly and Carol Mitcham, Ray Smith and Kathy Wells and Andy Anderson and Lynne Dickinson.
Falmouth battled well and finished in fourth place with 178 points. Perranporth Golf Club won the event with 202 points with home advantage giving them the edge over the other clubs.
