Helston Athletic Football Club is saying goodbye to three key players as the team prepares for its upcoming season in a higher league.
The departures of - Rikki Shepherd, Curtis Damerell, and Tom Payne have been announced by Helston AFC chairman Paul Hendy, come after a successful campaign that saw the Blues win the league and secure promotion.
However, the added travel and family commitments of the higher division have proven a significant factor in the players' decisions.
"When you finish a season, there's always a churn of players," Hendy explained. "The added travel this year, with around 7,200 miles on the road, is a big commitment, especially when you consider the players all have families."
He continued, "It's always sad to see players go, but we completely understand their priorities. They've all made a huge contribution to our success over the past few seasons."
Shepherd and Payne were both key members of the squad for the past two seasons, while Damerell joined last year.

Shepherd was the club's leading goalscorer last season, with Damerell close behind. Payne was a valuable presence, often proving crucial in tight games, including a remarkable 30-yard goal that secured a vital win.
"They've all been fantastic for us," Hendy added, "and we wish them all the very best for the future. Hopefully, we'll get to catch up with them soon."
The manager also confirmed that the club is already looking to add to its squad with new signings. "We have a few people in mind," he revealed, "but we're not ready to share any details yet. We'll only announce signings once they have officially signed with us."
Fans are eagerly awaiting news of the new recruits as Helston Athletic prepares for the new season, hoping to maintain their successful momentum despite the loss of three key players.
