On Friday Falmouth Golf Club held its annual Past Captains Event to thank all previous captains of Falmouth Golf Club.

The event was well attended with 22 past captains teeing up to try and win the Past Captains Salver.

The competition format was 11 holes stableford with full handicap allowance of yellow tees. In second place was last year’s winner Dicky Dickinson with an impressive 26 points.

In first place and winner of this year’s Past Captains Salver is Chris Beer who played some of the golf of his year coming in with a score of 29 points five over gross.

This was followed by a two-course meal in the clubhouse allowing all the past captains to catch up with old friends on what was an extremely enjoyable evening for all who attended.

Saturday at Falmouth Golf Club saw the popular team event of the ETS cups take place with a total of 29 teams of three signed up to play the betterball format where the two best scores from each hole count. In third place this year with a total of 83 points were Lee Gallagher, Adam Cooper and Steve Trezona.

In second place also with 83 points but winning on countback was the team of Matt Higham, Gary Wall and Keith Van Reijn.

The winning score of 85 points was the team of Jeremy Trathen, Dan Knowles and Laurie Magowan.

This year’s winners of the of the ETS cups meeting all the correct criteria were Matt Higham, Gary Wall and Keith Van Reijn.

Sunday saw the Seniors Summer Cup take place with 30 golfers teeing up in brilliant sunshine at Falmouth Golf Club. This is a Seniors Mixed Event stableford competition where the ladies play off the red tees and the men play of the yellows.

In third place with a total of 40 points was Rosalind Gutteridge and in second place was Maureen Hammond with 41 points. In first place and this year’s winner of the Seniors Summer Cup was Rebecca Beer with a fantastic score of 42 points.
