In an exciting weekend of cricket marred by rain, the ECB Cornwall Premier League matches saw a mix of decided outcomes and abandoned ties.
The particularly compelling contest between St Austell and Werrington saw St Austell emerge victorious by nine runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
St Austell posted a competitive 193 in 50 overs batting first against Werrington with A Bone top scoring with 34 runs, against M Taskis and A Hodgson's impressive bowling figures of 3-37 and 3-41 respectively.
In response, Werrington landed at 174-8 from 45 overs, with M Gribble leading the fight with a valiant 63.
A Snowdon and D Standing also shone in the bowling attack, capturing 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
The revised target of 184 from 45 overs was just out of reach for Werrington, seeing St Austell scoop the victory.
The match between Wadebridge and Penzance also reached a definitive outcome.
Wadebridge scored 96-5 in 27 overs, helmed by M Rowe's 25.
Penzance, however, chased the revised target of 115 from 25 overs effortlessly, reaching 119-2 in just 19.2 overs.
J Paull's unbeaten 45 and D Lello's stylish 37 secured Penzance an eight-wicket victory.
In the County Division 1 matchup, a spectacular partnership between B James and S James saw Beacon triumph over Grampound Road by 31 runs in a match reduced to 20 overs.
A tie was also witnessed between Hayle and Falmouth, with identical scores of 162 leading to a shared result.
However, not all matches navigated through the damp weather successfully.
In the Premier League, the Callington versus St Just contest was abandoned amid heavy rain, as were several other matches such as Camborne v Truro and Redruth v Helston.
In the County Division 1, the tie between Newquay and Camborne was called off due to rain, as were matches between Paul and St Erme, and Penzance and Wadebridge.
In Division 2 West, Helston and Hayle were also halted by rain, with Hayle being 208 and Helston 106-6 when the skies opened.
The Mt Hawke & Porthtowan v Ludgvan match was called off entirely due to unplayable conditions.
The Division 3 West match between Mount Ambrose and Gulval also fell victim to the rain.
Mullion and Paul, however, beat the rain and the competition, with Paul recording an eight-wicket triumph against Mullion.
Division 4 West saw an unfortunate event with St Newlyn East conceding on the day against Leedstown.
Redruth and Rosudgeon had their match cancelled due to the rain.
In the ECB 50+ County Championship Quarter Final, Cornwall Over 50s lost to Essex Seniors 50+ by six wickets.
A valiant effort by GM Thomas who scored 96 for Cornwall, was not enough to stop the imposing total of 202 set by Essex.
