Falmouth Town FC may have suffered a setback on the field of play on Saturday, but the club celebrated a big result with more than a £1k boost.
The launch of Cornish footballer Tommy Matthews’ book “Game Of Two Halves” raised more than £1,500 for Cancer Research UK.
Tommy signed copies of the book in the clubhouse of Falmouth Town FC before, during and after Town’s 3-0 defeat to Bashley.
The initial print run sold out completely and a reprint has now been ordered, with many more buyers having registered their interest.
His glittering playing career included ten years as a pivotal member of an outstandingly successful Falmouth Town side. As well as this he was also renowned for his time at Penzance and Porthleven.
He also managed the Cornwall county youth team for a similar period and for the past 30 years has dedicated himself to guiding youngsters, from five to 18, through the crucial development stages of their footballing aspirations.
Anyone interested in buying a copy of his book is invited to message Tommy via Facebook, email him at tommyscharitybook@gmail.com or text him on 07780 478554 and he will reply with a pro forma reply with details of prices.
All funds raised are exclusively for Cancer Research.
