Last season Mousehole Development were challenging for promotion with St Day to the SW Peninsula League - but the current Kernow Stone St Piran Football League (West) campaign is proving a much different scenario for the Trungle Park club, writes Leon Prynn. 

Premier division leaders Illogan RBL came to town on Saturday and departed with all three points and a 5-1 scoreline to leave Mousehole just three points above the relegation zone. Louis Matthews (2), Levi Hilling (2) and Simon Ellis had the goals for Illogan.

Falmouth Town returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 win away to third place Helston Athletic Development. The Blues scored through Regan Hull.

Perranwell had an emphatic 6-1 win at home to Wendron United Reserves after netting goals through Daniel Kim (2), Lachlan Brace, Justin Miles, Matt Rose and an own goal. Liam Paddock scored for United.

Trailing 1-0 at the break, Pendeen Rovers hit back to defeat local derby rivals St Just 3-2 with goals from Alex Ralph (2) and Isaac Joy and a goal in each half was enough for Mullion to end St Agnes’ interest as the home side finished 2-0 winners.

Cup holders Hayle edged through to the third round of the Cornwall Intermediate Cup with a narrow 2-1 win at North Petherwin with goals from Aaron Hicks and Cameron Irish.

In division one (West) St Ives Town moved up the table following their narrow 3-2 victory at Camborne School of Mines. Anthony Cornish, Kieran Eastwood and Jeff Robinson scored for Town and Alex Osmond and Alpha Briggs replied for the students.

Illogan RBL Reserves moved into the top four after beating Hayle Reserves 5-1 at Oxland Park. Liam Mooney scored for Hayle.

Penzance Reserves and Porthleven Reserves shared the points following a 2-2 draw with Adam Lewis and Kyeron Snowden scoring for The Magpies and Jevon Pryce and Daniel Parker replying with two goals in three minutes for the Fishermen.

RNAS Culdrose proved too strong for Threemilestone to run out 3-1 winners after scoring through Josh Robins (2) and Ashley Meadows and Troon went down to a 5-2 defeat at home to West Cornwall who scored through Jowan Kitchener (3) and Ben Kellow (2).

In the George Evely Cup Wendron opened the scoring, but by half-time the tie was over with Mawnan having established a 5-1 lead before eventually winning 8-3 with goals from Dominic Pullen (2), Max Bowden (2), Ben Harris, Adam Keenan, Joe Nancarrow and an own goal.

In division two (West) Dropship maintained their perfect unbeaten record in division two when they defeated St Agnes Reserves 8-0 with goals from Tyler Prescott (4), Kai Cornish, Conner Hurrell, Lucas Moses and Matt Quick.

Holman SC maintained their form with a 5-1 win at Perranwell Reserves. On target for the visitors was Sam King (2), Sam Eva, Kyle Furness and Liam Phillips. Perran’s goal came from Cody Child.

Newlyn Non-Athletico emerged tight 3-2 winners at Probus thanks to a hat-trick from Jack Liddicoat.

Goals from Hayden Webber (2) and George Harry paved the way for Falmouth United’s 3-1 win at St Buryan who scored through Jago Perrin, and Frogpool/Cusgarne won 2-0 at Constantine with goals from Craig Jackson and Jack Sexton.

It was raining goals in Mawnan Reserves match with Lizard Argyle who eventually won 6-5 after scoring through Tristan Hawkings (3), Colin Kettle, Ethan Thirlaway and Kai Tutton. Mawnan’s goals came from Harry Rogers (2), Liam Dent (2) and John Leach.

Falmouth DC maintained their grip at the top of division three with a 3-0 win at RNAS Culdrose Reserves.

Penryn Athletic Reserves defeated Carharrack 12-1, but remarkably only three players scored goals. Mawgan Langdon-Heller snapped up seven goals with Jack Blakeston getting four and Jacob Pendle the other goals. Cal Pearson had Carharrack’s goal.

St Just won their local derby with Pendeen Rovers Reserves 2-0 whilst another local derby saw Mullion Reserves and St Keverne draw 2-2. Danny Ford and Josh Wilson-Hone scored for Saints.

Perranporth chalked up a big 6-0 win at St Erme/Godolphin after notching goals through Oliver Keveren (2), Liam Taylor (2), Liam Drake and Jackson Rochford.

Troon Reserves dropped valuable points in division four when they were held to a rare 0-0 draw by Perranporth Reserves which allowed Dropship to close in after a 3-0 win at Newlyn Non-Athletico Reserves with goals from Peter Norfolk, Dan Reeves and George Gaylord.

Lizard Argyle Reserves and Goonhavern Athletic Reserves drew 3-3 with Tre Arnold, Levi Holroyd and David Mitchell scoring the goals, but goals from Ben Daniel and Travis Martin earned Probus Reserves a 2-0 win at Speak Out United.

In the Percy Stephens Cup third round Goonhavern Athletic defeated Holmans SC Reserves 6-3 with goals from Jayden Andrew (2), Neil Currah, Ian Gosling, Ben Tidy and an own goal. Logan Hotton (2) and Ross Williams scored for Holman SC.

Mawgan caused an upset when they defeated higher division St Ives Mariners 6-2.
