THE Cornwall Intermediate Cup was the main attraction for Kernow Stone St Piran Football League (West) clubs, with Perranwell pulling off a fine 2-1 win away to Porthleven, writes Leon Prynn. 

Redruth United made the long trip to Boscastle and it proved a great day out after United won their tie 3-2.

Pendeen Rovers exited the cup after going down 5-3 to St Minver after the sides were level at 3-3 at full time. Alex Ralph (2) and Ben Chapman had Rovers’ goals.

Mawnan had their game won by half-time after leading 5-0 against Roche. The final score was 6-0 with Mawnan scoring through Luke Wort (3), Adam Keenan, Josh Winnan and Kevin Morris.

Ludgvan went down 4-0 at home to Kilkhampton and Polperro defeated Threemilestone 3-1.

West Cornwall gave a good account of themselves at premier division St Dominick before going down 1-0.

In the premier division (West) It was a close game at Lafrowda Park where Helston Athletic Development secured a 2-1 victory against St Just with goals from Freddie Kemp and Rolandas Sumnauskas. Ashley Ellis scored for Saints.

Liam Paddock and Callum Bertrand scored the goals in Wendron United Reserves’ 2-0 win at home to Praze-an-Beeble.

The result of the day came in division one (West) where St Day Reserves hammered Camborne SoM 8-0 with goals from Bailey Packenas (3), Matthew Stephens (2), Daniel Richards (2) and Jordan Richards.

Constantine’s division two (West) match with Lanner was abandoned through an injury to a Lanner player in the second half with Lanner leading 2-0.

Holman SC closed the gap on Dropship after a fine 3-0 win against third-placed Newlyn Non-Athletico and Falmouth United were 4-2 winners away to St Agnes Reserves.

St Buryan upset the odds in a big way with a 5-1 thumping of Lizard Argyle with Jake Maddern grabbing a hat-trick and Connor Nicholls and James Treleven scoring the other goals.

Ben Glanville, William Waterton and Chris George scored the goals for Frogpool/Cusgarne in their 3-1 win at Stithians and Probus were convincing 5-0 winners at Perranwell Reserves.

Falmouth DC march on at the top of the division three (West) after an impressive 6-2 win against local derby opponents Penryn Athletic Reserves. Jack Blakeston and Luke Ewins scored for Athletic.

Goonhavern Athletic overcame St Keverne 4-2 after notching goals through Jayden Andrew(2), Albert Gosling-Brown and Neil Currah. Drew Johnson and Phil James scored for Saints.

St Day III earned a welcome point from their 2-2 draw with Mullion Reserves with Ben Harvey notching a brace for Mullion.

Brandon McDonnell hit a hat-trick in St Erme/Godolphin’s 5-3 win against Carharrack. Ryan Clark and Thierry Murley scored the other goals.

Troon Reserves cemented their place at the top of division four (West) with a comprehensive 6-0 win at home to Newlyn Non-Athletico Reserves.

Goals from Logan Hotton (2), Scott Goodchild and Aidan Carveth enabled Holman SC Reserves win 4-3 at Mawgan.

Perranporth Reserves proved too strong for Falmouth Athletic to run out 7-2 winners with goals from Bryn Cox (3), Brandon Light (2), Keran Royal and Dan Cox. Athletic replied through Jordan Lawry and Lucas Abrahams.

Chacewater also hit seven goals in their 7-3 win at Lizard Argyle Reserves.

Harvey Smith, James Holmes and Tommy Knight scored for Probus Reserves in their 3-0 win against Speak Out United and Goonhavern Athletic Reserves won 4-1 at Storm with goals from Lloyd Piper (2), Levi Holroyd and John Staffieri. Ben Iles replied for Storm.

Perranporth are through to the next round of the Percy Stephens Cup after winning 4-1 at home to Pendeen Rovers Reserves. Dan Ware, Liam Taylor, Rian Faulkner and an own goal were the scorers.

St Just Reserves were made to work hard for their 2-1 cup success at Dropship Reserves where Taylor Hosking scored for Dropship.
