THERE was a second successive week of Cornwall Intermediate Cup fixtures for Kernow Stone St Piran Football League clubs with Newquay Res causing the upset of the round with a shock win over Illogan RBL.
Illogan, the unbeaten premier division (West) leaders, were dumped out of the competition by the mid-table Eastern division one side 3-1 after scoring through Jamie Cass, Sam Fearon and Drew Brion.
Falmouth Town Reserves polished off St Agnes 5-1 after scoring through Evan Tresidder (2), Jack Davies (2) and Joseph McIlroy and Praze-an-Beeble were just edged out 1-0 by Torpoint Athletic who scored through Cameron Ross.
Division one east leaders St Newlyn East earned a trip to Mawnan after a narrow 1-0 win against Saltash Borough with Simon Baulch scoring the crucial winner.
RNAS Culdrose scored through Jack Prowse two minutes from the end of extra time to beat St Day Reserves 3-2. Tom Smith snapped up a brace of goals for the servicemen.
In the premier division (West) Helston Athletic Development were 3-1 winners against neighbours Mullion after scoring through Alfie Hicks (2) and Rolandas Sumnauskas.
Pendeen Rovers and Hayle shared the points following a 1-1 draw with Matt Roberts scoring for Rovers and Porthleven won a close match with Wendron United Reserves 2-1 after Callum Bertrand scored for United.
Redruth United enjoyed possibly their best result of the season after beating Perranwell 1-0 with a goal from Regan Barthorpe and St Just moved out of the relegation spot with a 4-0 win against Penryn Athletic after scoring through Ashley Ellis (2), Sam Payne and James Stevens.
Top met bottom in division one (West) with Mawnan defeating a plucky Hayle Reserves 10-0. Adam Keenan hit four goals to chalk up his 200th goal for the club, Dom Pullen grabbed a hat-trick and Luke Wort, Ben Harris and Ben Richardson had the other goals.
Ludgvan maintained their unbeaten record with a 5-2 win against Camborne SoM and West Cornwall had an excellent 7-1 win against Porthleven Reserves. Owain Barrett (4), Ben Kellow (2) and an own goal were the scorers. Daniel Parker replied for Port.
Wendron United III lost ground after losing 2-1 at home to Illogan RBL Res who scored through Luke Abbott-Smith and Kane Isaacs.
Probus were 4-0 winners against Stithians in division two and Alex Prynn, who scored for Constantine, were beaten 2-1 at home by St Agnes Reserves.
Newlyn Non-Athletico snatched a 3-2 victory against Mawnan Reserves with two goals in injury time after Mawnan had missed a late penalty. Jack Liddicoat (2) and Jack Eckley scored for Athletico and Liam Dent had a pair for Mawnan.
St Buryan drew 1-1 at home to Lanner.
St Just Reserves caused a big upset in division three after defeating league leaders Falmouth DC 5-2 on their own pitch.
Carharrack went down 4-0 at home to St Keverne who scored through Danny Ford (2), Drew Johnson and Josh Wilson-Hone and St Ives Mariners ran out 6-2 winners against St Day III with the goals coming from Kieran Metters (3), Jason Blight and Ryan Higgins.
Goals from Archie Rutherford, Daniel Thomas, Neil Rollinson and Perran Hobson paved the way for Mullion Reserves’ 4-1 win at Penryn Athletic Reserves who replied through Luke Ewins.
St Erme/Godolphin ran out 5-2 winners at home to RNAS Culdrose Reserves after notching goals through Fred Murley, Thierry Murley, Cameron Leavers, Ryan Clark and an own goal.
Mawgan caused an upset when they knocked Troon Reserves off the top of division four with a fine 4-1 win after scoring through Stan Burtenshaw (3) and Owen Fairclough and that allowed Holman SC Reserves to move to the top after finding Falmouth Athletic a tough nut to crack before winning 4-3 with goals from Logan Hotton (3) and Scott Goodchild. Robert Tann, Logan Honey and Lucas Abraham scored for Athletic.
After a goalless first half Goonhavern Athletic Reserves defeated Probus Reserves 2-1 with goals from Dan Scholes and John Staffieri. James Holmes had the goal for Probus.
Newlyn Non-Athletico Reserves went down 3-1 at home to Perranporth Reserves and Speak Out United were narrow 1-0 winners against Storm after scoring through Tyler Gilbert.
Wendron United IV won a nine-goal thriller when beating Lizard Argyle Reserves 5-4 with goals from Robin Watson, Lee Pawley, James Mitchell, Tom Orchard and an own goal.
Dropship were given a scare by Perranporth before winning their Bond Timber Cornwall Junior Cup third round tie 3-2 and Falmouth United are through after they overcame Goonhavern Athletic 3-1.
Biscovey pulled off a surprise 1-0 win at Holman SC with a 73rd minute goal by Lee Thomas but Lizard Argyle made absolutely sure by winning 5-2 at home to Pendeen Rovers Reserves. Harry Bray (2), Lee Tiddy, Tristan Hawkings and Charlie O’Connell scored the goals.
Mevagissey ended Frogpool/Cusgarne’s interest with an emphatic 6-0 win after scoring through Tyler Cheshire (3), Ben Bould (2) and Kieran Warrick.
Chacewater went out 3-0 to Gerrans/St Mawes United who scored through Jason Busby (2) and Paul Cox.
