MAWNAN travelled the short journey to stithians on saturday for another crucial Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League division four (West) fixture.
With the weather set fair the away side elected to bat first. Stithians took the key wicket of run machine Darren Griffiths with only the second ball of the match which brought Dylan Mason to the crease .
In recent years Dylan seems to have taken a liking to the Stithians bowling attack and this occasion was no different as he dominated proceedings to chalk up his third century in four innings against the home side. He hit seven sixes and 22 fours as he put together a massive 184.
He was supported by a faultless knock of 75no by the talented Graham Griffiths and together the pair shared a fifth wicket stand of 222.
Mawnan finished with a total of 333, a daunting total facing Stithians after tea against a youthful visiting pace attack. They were skittled out for a mere 44 with Matt Symons taking four for 24 and Graham Griffiths capping a fine all-round performance by taking 5-25 to give the away side a well deserved 20 points.
