Penryn Athletic got their Carlsberg SW Peninsula League division one west campaign off to a winning start on Saturday, with a 4-1 win over newly-promoted Sticker.
It was returning player-manager Dale Band who got Penryn off to a dream start as he steered a ninth minute header past Ryan Holland in the Sticker goal.
However Rob Rosevear, who joined Penryn from Sticker this summer, did well to save a Jason Rogers shot on 30 minutes but the balled looped up for Ross Pinhammer to head home.
It didn't take long for Penryn to get back in front though as Band hit an excellent shot across Holland and into the far post to make it 2-1 at half-time.
Penryn then had the game all but wrapped up in the 59th minute as young David Broglino curled a free-kick into the bottom corner of the net.
In injury time Nathan Grimshaw headed home a Josh Burton cross to make it 4-1.
Penryn: Rob Rosevear, David Blizzard, Ryan Smart, Ryan Chinn, Ben Oliver, Nathan Grimshaw, Josh Burton, Dale Band, Gregg Hobbs, David Broglino, Tom Annear. Substitutes: Nathan Grimshaw, Mark Kent, Matt Roberts.
