Julia Freeman is proving to be a cut above most at Porthleven this season after taking on the role as assistant grounds person at Gala Parc.
Julia, who was second team secretary and treasurer last season, took on the new role following the death of the club’s much respected groundsman Jack Prowse in the summer.
She works with head groundsman Derek Richards to keep the Gala Parc pitch in good working order.
It is thought Julia might be the first grounds woman at senior club in Cornwall.
The ground staff at Gala Parc seem to be doing a good job as well, with the pitch looking immaculate for the season opener against Vospers Oak Villa.
The ground is often praised by visiting teams for the quality of the playing surface on show.
