There was praise for Helston Athletic striker Mark Goldsworthy, from his manager Sid Taylor, after he scored four goals against rivals Penryn Athletic on Saturday.
The strikes helped Helston to a 6-2 victory. It was made all the sweeter for Goldsworthy as he was at Penryn Athletic two seasons ago, where he suffered an unsuccessful spell at the club.
Speaking about his four goal striker, Taylor said:
“Lots of people have been criticising him because he hasn’t scored for a couple of games, but he gave them the perfect answer, scoring four goals in a top-of-the-table clash with our local rivals.
Talking about Penryn, Taylor added: “They are a young side and they’ve had a good start. Obviously they’ll have to pick themselves up a bit after this result, but I still expect them to finish in the top five or six. They are improving all the time.”
