HAVING Harry Evans to call on occasionally is a real boost for Wendron United – according to their boss Paul Murray.
The young forward has played twice for the Underlane outfit this month despite recently swapping Falmouth Town for St Austell in the South West Peninsula League.
He set up the decisive winning goal for Dron on Saturday in their 3-2 victory against local rivals Helston Athletics Reserves in the Jolly’s Combination League Cup.
Evans appeared at Underlane as he was cup-tied from the Saints’ FA Vase second round match away to Folland Sports.
Murray said Evans, who played youth football for Dron, is a player who can add spark to any club.
“It is nice to be able to bring in a player like Harry when he is around,” Murray said.
“We do have other players who are part of teams in higher leagues who come along to us when they are not playing for their main team, but it does not always work out.
“However, with Harry he has come in a couple of times now and has done brilliantly.
“He is one of those guys who just loves playing football and I could play him anywhere, even in goal, or sub him off during a game and he wouldn’t complain.”
