IT started so well! The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club race team were well prepared; the competitors were enthusiastic; the sun was shining, but the wind disappeared to nothing.
After a good build up for the first race of the 2007 Season, sadly the wind let us down, writes Phil Sissons.
With six yachts in the various classes including representation in the IRC and J Classes, Good Friday evening was well attended for so early in the season.
After a slow sail back to the moorings, many entrants enjoyed the chat in the bar before returning home.
Hopefully, the weather will improve and with more yachts from all the classes including the new Sport Boat (SBR) and White Sail Classes!
With a strong feeling of déjà vu, the race team disappeared into the fog and mist to look for wind in order to set up the start line.
A number of the racing crews hovered around the club awaiting the word on whether there was enough wind to justify setting off the find the line. Surely next week will be OK.
