THE Royal Cornwall Yacht Club's regatta was a carbon copy of all those that had gone before with the strong winds the major feature.

The working boats as usual made light of the conditions with Phil Slater's Rebecca winning the B class from Lola and Abigail Rose.

In the C class Zilpha took the honours followed by Krystal and Dolly.

One of the week's most competivie classes, the Sunbeams, saw Verony hold off the challenge of Caprice and Saucy Sally whilst in D c;ass sports boats eventual overall winners Charlie and Alex Russell's The Joules Argo Rat Pack had to settle for third place behind Hiawatha and Cardinal Puff.

There aren't too many boats named after famous footballers, but probably the most famous of them all Pele, has been doing well in K class Marieholmes with Len Careless's boat again finishing in the first three.
