The funeral service of Matt Hodges, who sustained fatal injuries after his car left the road and hit a tree near Perranarworthal, will be held on Friday afternoon.
The family of the 27-year-old former soldier have extended an invite to “everybody who new Matt” to attend the service which will be held at Penmount Crematorium at 4pm. They have asked for family flowers only, but donations will go to the Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.
Following the accident, which happened at Barras Moor at about 11.30am, Matt's family released a statement through the police in which they said: “Matthew James Hodges, our beautiful son, brother, grandson and fiancé was tragically taken from us on 13th February.
“Life can be so cruel, but we only have the best memories of him. He was such a funny, loyal, caring and sensitive man. He enjoyed and lived his life to the full, both in his personal life and his career in the Army.
“Words can't explain how much we will miss you Matt, but you and your always smiling face will be always remembered by all your family, friends and everyone that ever knew you. Never forgotten. We love you Matthew James.”
