Firefighters rescued a sleeping man this morning after he was discovered on an old quarry face in a residential area of Falmouth.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called at around 5.30am to a man who was "half way down" the slope and "stuck in a bush" between Budock Terrace and Windsor Court.
Windsor Court resident Mark Peters said: "Myself and my wife were woken up just after 3am by unusual grunting, moaning, snoring noises coming from the rear of our property.
"After investigating, this noise I called the police and explained my concern.
"Local police attended promptly, and commenced a search by flashlight, from the Burdock Terrace side - where just before 6am they discovered a sleeping, possibly drunk, young male.
He added: "I'm guessing he was a student, as he was very young, and Budock Terrace is full of students.
"Slightly embarrassing for him, but just how did he come to be in that position?"
Police said the fire service used ladders and rope to recover the man, who is believed to be in his early 30s, without injury,
He was checked over by the ambulance service and taken home.
