A pre-application request for plans to create a new 36 pitch glamping site at a farm near Breage has been submitted to Cornwall Council.
Applicants Celtic Land, based in Porthleven, is seeking advice prior to a planning application to create space for 20 camping pitches and six motorhome pitches, along with six camping pods, two shepherds' huts and two safari tents, on land at Penbro Farm near to the A394.
In a letter to council planning officers, architects Sunderland Peacock wrote: "The development would follow some of the already successful glamping sites located in Cornwall such as Chymder Farm at Cury, Atlantic Surf Pods in Bude and Lowarth Glamping near Wadebridge.
"All these developments follow the proposed model being suggested at Penbro, catering for families, walkers, cyclists etc. looking for a more secluded location but with good access to roads, villages, bus stops and the coast."
Glamping is a term used for camping which promise a more glamorous experience than traditional sites, and the applicants for the Breage site have said there would be plumbing to the safari tents and shepherds' huts
The plans also include central facilities including showers, toilets, a laundry room, and shop as well as a children's play area and an outdoor eating and barbecue area.
The site would sit on what is currently fields and scrubland, and be screened from view by trees.
