A Christmas card designed by Bella Davey, a pupil at Mount Hawke Academy in Truro, has been chosen as the best in the UK in a competition organised by Hays Education.
The competition saw over 1,300 entries from across the UK competing to be featured on a Christmas card that will be sent to schools all over the UK.
Bella's design of a festively decorated reindeer was chosen by the judges as the best design because of its fun, artistic and colourful imagery, a cheerful way to wish people a merry Christmas.
Bella, aged ten, has won £250 worth of vouchers for her school towards art equipment, a framed certificate for her and her school and a pack of cards with the winning design on them for her school and family to share.
Andrew Earnshaw, executive head teacher at Mount Hawke Academy said: “We are thrilled Bella has won and very proud of her artistic skills. It will be great to see the card circulated at Christmas.”
Stephen Edwards, recruitment consultant at Hays Education in Plymouth, added: “I am absolutely delighted to have a winner from within my region. It is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of the staff and pupils from the school.”
