Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of two people at a house in Newquay.
Officers attended an address in Quintrell Downs at 12.35pm on Wednesday [2 March] following concerns for the welfare of a man and woman at the property.
On arrival officers found the 70-year-old man and 69-year-old woman deceased inside the house.
The woman’s death is being treated as suspicious and detectives have launched an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding both deaths. Next of kin have been informed.
A scene guard remains at the property while a forensic examination and searches are conducted, and police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Ian Ringrose, from the Force Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “This investigation is at a very early stage and enquiries continue to establish the circumstances around the deaths. However at this time we are not looking for any other person in connection with this incident.”
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident. Please contact police on 101, quoting reference EN/004342/16.
