The Trefusis Singers hosted a very successful coffee morning on Saturday at The Tremayne Hall in Mylor Bridge when £385 was raised. As it was St George’s Day, most of the choir sported red roses and red roses were scattered round the room.
The choir has welcomed Servane Trefusis as its new president and is now hoping to attract some new members. "We have a wonderful number of second sopranos and altos but would love to have one or two more first sopranos to balance the sound," said Irene Gardiner. "If there are any budding first sopranos out there who would like to join our quite small but very happy choir, we should love to have you."
The choir will be holding a Gala Celebration in the Tremayne Hall on June 11 to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday which will be followed the next day by a street party for villagers.
The Trefusis Singers meet at 7pm every Tuesday evening in the Mylor Methodist School Room in Comfort Road. For further information on the choir or if you would like to join, contact Mrs Gardiner on 01326 619019.
