Prepare to be amazed by impossibly detailed miniature portraits and paintings so enormous they only just fit through the door as Falmouth Art Gallery explores the nature of scale in art in its surprising and entertaining new exhibition.
Little and Large, which opened this week and can be seen until January 28 , showcases an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary artwork in an array of sizes. Included are large works by David Hepher, Diane Ibbotson, Don Martiny, John Salt and Shelley Tregonning along with little works by James Caughty, Tim Shaw, Slinkachu, and miniaturist Henry Bone.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of talks and events. For families there is a Diddy Decorations workshop on Saturday, December 3; Jam Jar Diorama on Saturday, December 17, and Picture Shrink on Saturday, January 6. These free artist-led sessions will run from 11am to 3pm.
Falmouth Art Gallery is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm and admission free. For more information contact Donna Williams on 01326 313863 or email info@falmouthartgallery.com.
