Fire crews from all over Cornwall have spent the night tackling a huge blaze on a farm.
At 9.11pm yesterday the fire service received the first of multiple 999 calls to say a barn was on fire at Kergiliack near Falmouth.
Crews from Falmouth were sent but on arriving they were forced to call for immediate back up due to the size of the blaze.
The water carrier from Helston and a crew from Truro were sent for and firefighters wearing breathing equipment began using hose real jets to put out the flames.
At 11pm further back up was sent for from Tolvaddon and just before midnight crews from Perranporth and St Austell joined the fight to control the fire, with support vehicles coming from Falmouth and Penzance.
At that time it was reported that good progress was being made.
At 4am firefighters from St Keverne, Hayle and Newquay arrived to provide relief cover, with specialist appliances from Helston, Penzance and St Dennis also still there as crews continued to monitor the barn.
An update at 7.30am today reported that one crew remained at the scene using using a hose reel jet on a piece of farm machinery still alight and a fire investigation will take place shortly .
