A BODY has been found following searches for a man who was reported missing this week.
Devon and Cornwall Police have announced the discovery of a body after searches took place in the St Just in Roseland area near Truro this afternoon.
The body has not yet been formally identified, however police say they have informed the family of missing man Christopher Green.
The 54-year-old has been the subject of a missing person appeal, having last been seen at around 7am on Monday, March 20.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Following searches, a body of a man was located in the St Just in Roseland area of Truro this afternoon, Wednesday 22 March.
"This death is not being treated as suspicious. Formal identification has yet to have taken place and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
"The family of Christopher Green, the 54-year-old man reporting missing from his home in Truro, have been made aware of this development."
As reported in The Packet yesterday, Christopher Green, aged 54, was reported missing from his home in Truro and police urged anyone that might have seen him or have any information to contact them via 999, quoting log number 0085 of 21 March.
Christopher Green is described as a white male, around six foot two inches tall, of a stocky build, with short dark brown hair and sideburns.
He is reported to have last been seen wearing a dark green hoody, blue jeans, and dark grey work boots.
