The Falmouth parade kicked off the 2024 season in Falmouth, and no amount of rain clouds deterred the massive crowds from joining in.

At 12 noon on April 27, Pride marched through the town centre of Falmouth with the world’s largest Pride flag with “go-go” dancers watching from a platform outside the Cornish Bank.

The march began at The Prince of Wales Pier and finished at Event Square outside the Maritime Museum where there was an afternoon of entertainment from artists such a drag queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Vicki Vivacious. Also performing was Scarlett Von B with the stage hosted by Roberta Calamari.

Cornwall Pride Volunteer Marshals marched the route through the town centre along Market Street, Church Street and Grove Place.

There was music and celebration as participants marched to show support for LGBTQ+ people in Falmouth, Cornwall and around the world.

Joining the march were representatives of various public bodies including Deputy Mayor Alan Rowe from Falmouth Town Council who took over the reigns from Falmouth mayor Kirstie Edwards who was at Camborne’s Trevithick Day.

Also taking part was the fire service with one of their engines displaying Pride colours.

The celebrations continued into the evening with Queer the Decks at the Cornish Bank on Church Street and at Five West.

The aim of the march was to be civil, peaceful, safe and enjoyable for all.
