A bottom groper from Mabe who touched two women and a 14-year-old girl in an ASDA supermarket has been told to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.

Robert Moore admitted touching two women and a young teenage girl in the ASDA supermarket at St Austell.

Prosecutor Iain White said that a woman saw Moore in the ladies’ underwear section and became aware of him touching her bottom from behind.

Another woman with a push chair felt Moore walk into her back and put his hand on her buttock before saying “sorry” and walking away. She was shocked and embarrassed. A 14-year-old also felt Moore touching her from behind.

When arrested Moore was found to have about eight photographs, all of women’s bottoms, on his phone.

Recorder Stephen Climie also ordered 32-year-old Moore, of Treliever Road, Mabe Burnthouse, to participate in the Thames Valley sex offender treatment programme, sign on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years and pay £100 prosecution costs.

“You assaulted these young women with a sexual intent and obtained some degree of sexual gratification,” said Mr Climie. “I accept that you are thoroughly ashamed of your behaviour, as you should be, and that you are of previous good character.”

Moore was given a three-year community order with supervision, at Truro Crown Court.
