Crews were called out to Falmouth Road in Penryn last night after a report of a fire in a garage.
Twelve firefighters on two appliances from Falmouth attended the call to the car on fire just before 10pm, with the car "well alight" when they arrived.
Four breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a covering jet supplied from a hydrant were used to battle the flames.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the premise.
