The tale of Tiger the tortoise, who went missing from his Penryn home several weeks ago, has come to a happy conclusion.
Tiger, who disappeared from a garden in Woodland Avenue on June 25, has now been reunited with his owner John Thompson, following an appeal in the Falmouth Penryn Packet.
The pet's odyssey came to an end when he was found by a 12-year-old Penryn girl in College Woods, and taken to a vet in Falmouth.
John gave the girl a small reward and thanked her for finding Tiger, and said: "He is now back in his rightful place."
In a curious twist, the tortoise who left John's back garden as Tiger has returned as 'Tigerlily', after the vets discovered during their examination that the pet which had been thought to be male for years was in fact female.
