Members of the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club are set to discuss their concerns over a proposed conservation zone in the Carrick Roads at a meeting with town MP Sarah Newton on Saturday.
They are due to meet at the road’s Greenbank headquarters at 10am, where members will be joined by representatives of the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, spokesmen from various commercial class Sailing associations and the Royal Yachting Association.
They are set to raise concerns over the impact of the Reference Marine Conservation Zone proposed by Finding Sanctuary on port operations and yacht and dinghy racing in Falmouth.
The club is also concerned by a lack of consultation over the plans, and by the justification for a reference area in the busy waters.
If the area is declared a reference zone, no man-made activity will be allowed in the area.
