Matt Redhead has been appointed to the role of general manager of the award-winning Lugger Hotel at Portloe near Truro.
Mr Redhead, who grew up and studied in St Austell joins with more than 20 years’ experience in the travel and tourism industry. Past roles include a decade with Cunard on board the QE2, and jobs at the St Michael's Hotel and Spa in Falmouth, the Headland Hotel in Newquay and the Midland hotel in Morecambe.
“I am delighted to be joining such an iconic establishment,” said Mr Redhead. “As someone with significant experience in the South West and Cornwall, I have long admired The Lugger and look forward to upholding the excellent standards with which it is associated.”
Operated by Bespoke Hotels since 2011, The Lugger is an award-winning seaside property set in the picturesque fishing village of Portloe, at the heart of Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsula. Offering 22 rooms, many of which boast stunning views across the bay, alongside a bar, terrace and fine-dining restaurant, the property has won numerous accolades, including being named Best Seaside Hotel by the Sunday Times.
