The body of a man in his 30s was found in a flat in Penryn this week. It was understood to be that of Dominic Knutton, who was well known in Cornwall for his involvement in amateur and professional dramatics and having produced a number of plays locally.
He had also set up his own theatre company.
A police spokesman said the body had been found in a property in Church Road just before teatime on Monday. Scenes of crime officers attended but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Mr Knutton was the son of Mike Knutton, a retired journalist who lives in Falmouth and who once worked for the Packet.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned this week.
Dominic was well known in West Cornwall and in particular in Penryn and Falmouth.
Tributes to him can be placed below.
The funeral service will be at St Gluvias Church, Penryn, on Thursday, May 24 at 2.15pm followed by cremation. This will be followed by a gathering at the Waterfront bar in Falmouth.
